Possible Portal get?
or 2 outs. Never understand the anti bunting philosophy in a pitcher friendly park. His little league (at best) base running philosophy was my only problem with him...and I won't miss that at all.
And darn Ohio State....hope they get 20 guys throw out at 3rd next year with no outs.
Considering our pitching staff last season, the offense had to try and produce as many runs as possible and maybe more than possible.or 2 outs. Never understand the anti bunting philosophy in a pitcher friendly park.
If our tootblans go down and we have some concept of situational hitting id say yesgood hire?
Naa. @QuilterFrawg is only concerned about cuteness factor. Stats like era and opponents batting average don't mean much of anything. But you aren’t quilterfrog
good hire?
T.J. Bruce - Baseball Coach - University of Nevada Athletics
T.J. Bruce enters his seventh season leading the Wolf Pack baseball program in 2021-22. Bruce was hired by Nevada on June 26, 2015 and arrived on the Nevada campusnevadawolfpack.com
"Bruce has established himself as one of the top recruiters in the nation as Collegiate Baseball ranked the Wolf Pack’s 2016 class 35th in the country. It was the first nationally ranked recruiting class in school history. D1Baseball.com ranked Bruce as one of the top 10 head coaches in recruiting."thanks i guess, obvious west coast ties
anyone know if he is recruiter, strong on player development, ties to juco programs etc.....
Not to be a buzzkill or anything, but this is 2022."Bruce has established himself as one of the top recruiters in the nation as Collegiate Baseball ranked the Wolf Pack’s 2016 class 35th in the country. Not a lot of coaching analysis out on the interwebs for mid-major college baseball programs. Gotta take whatever you can get.Not to be a buzzkill or anything, but this is 2022.

From his bio:
"Bruce has established himself as one of the top recruiters in the nation as Collegiate Baseball ranked the Wolf Pack’s 2016 class 35th in the country. It was the first nationally ranked recruiting class in school history. D1Baseball.com ranked Bruce as one of the top 10 head coaches in recruiting."
"Despite losing nearly 80 percent of its at bats from 2015, the Wolf Pack posted a stellar .319 batting average on the season, which ranked second in the conference and ninth out of 295 Division I teams. Bruce’s defensive expertise also paid dividends as Nevada led the MW with a .977 fielding percentage, which set a new program record and ranked in the top 25 nationally."
Likely goes straight into our weekend rotation. Chance to me a pretty massive addition to a team in need of starting pitching.
Don’t know a thing about him. My only observation would be that anytime you can hire a current head coach to be one of your assistants it speaks very well of your program/reaources.thoughts on the hire?
