The 2014 TCU squad would have made a game with Georgia 2022. Georgia still probably wins but it is more like 38-28 type of affair.

look what they did to tennessee

people judge this on what they saw the 2014 tcu team do in the peach bowl when they had a month to prepare and were pissed off

that same team struggled in kansas so they didn't have overwhelming talent

remove that anger and put them in the same scenario of playing a semi-final game and then they have 9 days to prep for this uga team which has seen this scheme, effectively dealt with the hunh, and have a depth in the defensive line

uga wins by a good margin, not near what we saw, but not really close with the attitude and talent they showed on monday

Georgia struggled at times this year too albeit they did win all of their games. The proper comparison is Georgia’s NC game performance vs. the 2014 TCU PB performance. Both teams were pissed off and motivated. Would have been a game. Georgia’s coaching staff and prep would certainly be an advantage though.

We keep comparing previous teams on how they would fare against Georgia, but I think we are forgetting that the performances of the Rose/Peach/Fiesta bowl can not be compared to what we faced with Georgia. We had a month to prepare for all those games. I don’t think our coaches looked much past Michigan. Given a month to prepare, the playing field can be leveled somewhat and talent becomes less important because you can scheme against it. Even in conference play you know your opponents way in advance. We didn’t have long to prepare for Georgia and when that happens the talent disparity became even more of a factor.
