You thought WE were overly happy to join a new conference?

That's a short-sighted way of looking at things. If A&M starts winning in the SEC for a year or two people will say "oh well maybe the SEC isn't so great", but it will hurt Big XII teams in Texas that aren't named UT in the long run. A&M already does well in recruiting for no good reason and will soon be able to tout playing on the biggest stage in college football when courting recruits. Playing and winning on that biggest stage would be very detrimental to our recruiting.

Disagree.

I don't think playing in the SEC holds much, if any, advantage to playing in the BIG 12. The stage in the BIG 12 is big enough to accomplish whatever you want to accomplish as a college athlete. A Baylor quarterback winning the Heisman is proof of that. If anyone's recruiting will bet hurt it will in fact be UT since, as of now, they get whoever they want in Texas and that could change if Aggie becomes a beast.

Lastly, TCU is selling a much different product than A&M. I don't see their success or failure having much impact on us either way.
