LOS ANGELES -- Confronting the Rose Bowl's electric atmosphere might be easier for TCU's Tank Carder than for most collegiate linebackers.
For one thing, Carder won a world championship when he was a child. Two years later, he survived a near-fatal automotive accident despite severe injuries.Now, the junior has emerged as a pivotal factor in a defense that will lead the nation in fewest points, total yards, passing yards and first downs allowed when the Horned Frogs meet Wisconsin on Saturday.
In his second season as a starter, Carder was the Mountain West Conference's defensive player of the year.
