SEC Declines Invite to A&M

Uh...this is all part of the process. 100% expected.

If an invite was extended, SEC would be susceptible to tortious interference lawsuit from the Big 12.

Love the knee-jerk reaction though.

Also, ESPN is the least credible place on the Internet you could look at regarding this whole process. They are corporate partners with UT, which is dependent on a conference to fill its contractual obligations regarding the LHN.

How so? Seemed like invites were extended to Boise State, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, and seemed like a lot of people were involved in BYU going Indy. So how does the SEC ever add the aggies if extending an invite gets them sued.

All of those schools had to formally leave their conference first. aTm has not left the Big 12 yet. The Board of Regents will likely give the president the authority to do so tomorrow.

It's just extra-sensitive in this case because the Big 12 is clinging to its last hopes and will use whatever measure possible to keep the conference together. Also, last summer's flirtation between the SEC and aTm complicates things.

From what I understand. A&M needs to leave the Big XII and apply for membership to the SEC.

Not dead yet. Beebe & Utex threatened to sue sec. Sec needs a&m to leave first so they cant be sued for tort interference. Once a&m aprroaches sec, sec isnt liable.

Hearing from an Aggie this has all been planned for over a year and its going down tomorrow after 3pm. Timed to coincide with Perry announcement and the fact State legislature not in session. He went onto to say Perry won't call special session regarding this matter so basically legislature can't stop the Aggie move to SEC.

looks like A$M will have to take a leap of faith
