Gary Patterson’s interest in offense isn’t too intense — unless he’s trying to figure out how to stop one.
But the TCU coach has a simple idea about the importance of having a dependable running game late in the season.
“If you want to win championships, you have to run the football,” Patterson said. “And these guys have proven they can do that against some pretty good people.”
The No. 4 Horned Frogs’ vaunted Air Raid offense has developed a physical ground game heading into Saturday’s game at Kansas. They’ve gained more than 300 yards in two of the last three games.
“We have proven we can run the ball,” TCU junior running back Aaron Green said. “People doubted us, they doubted the running backs and our offensive line. We’ve shown what we can do the last several weeks.” ...
