"Very proud of the way our team responded after doubles. There was not much confidence to have after doubles, but our team showed a lot of grit and dominated the majority of singles. Momentum, though not tangible, is such an obvious thing when experiencing it. We really had them on their heels and I was confident it was a done deal. But credit to their 4 for fighting back and flipping that match." </p><p> </p><p>"Then it all came down to court one where the level was very high from both players and really neither deserved to lose. I'm so proud of Jade- her growth, her composure and how she's matured so much through the years. She's a great player and great teammate. This team has always learned from their losses very fast and used what they learned to make an incredible impact on the next match. I have no doubt that the same will happen this week. We have turned the page and already looking forward to another battle at a very good BYU team. It's fun to compete with this team and our best is yet to come."</p><p></p><p><strong>THE RUNDOWN </strong></p><p>The match began in doubles play where <a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/yu-chin-tsai/15560" target="_blank">Yu-Chin Tsai</a> and <a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/chiho-mushika/15903" target="_blank">Chiho Mushika</a> put up a strong fight against the nations No. 6 doubles pair of Metka Komac and Acelina Sayfetfinova before ultimately falling 6-3. The Cougars secured the doubles point with a 6-1 win on court two.</p><p> </p><p>The match ramped up when singles play began. <a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/helena-narmont/15556" target="_blank">Helena Narmont</a> was first off the court with her eighth win of the season coming from court six (6-1, 6-3). <a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/raquel-caballero-chica/15561" target="_blank">Raquel Caballero Chica</a> came up short on court five making the score 2-1, Texas Tech. </p><p> </p><p><a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/destinee-martins/15555" target="_blank">Destinee Martins</a> moved to 8-2 on the season in straight sets winning 6-3, 6-4 on court two. <a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/isabel-pascual/15558" target="_blank">Isabel Pascual</a> clutched up on court three to give the Horned Frogs the first lead of the night 3-2. The senior won her first set 6-3 then fell 6-1 in set two before coming back to finish off her opponent 6-3 in set three.</p><p> </p><p>Tsai fell in a heartbreaker on court four to tie up the match 3-3. <a href="https://gofrogs.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/jade-otway/15557" target="_blank">Jade Otway</a> battled with the No. 55 singles player in the nation through three sets. The junior lost the first set 6-4 before coming back in a tiebreak to win 7-6(2) in set two.
