MWC Champion Horned Frogs Learn Postseason Destination

TCU will make its 16th consecutive NCAA postseason appearance

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Mountain West Conference champion TCU women's golf team will make its 16th consecutive postseason appearance when it begins play May 5 at the NCAA East Regional in Daytona Beach, Fla. The NCAA announced the complete postseason field Monday night. The 32nd-ranked Horned Frogs are the automatic qualifier from the MWC.

TCU is seeded 12th in the NCAA East Regional. Joining the Horned Frogs and top-seed Alabama in the 24-team regional are Purdue, California, Arizona State, Auburn, Michigan State, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Florida, Florida State, Colorado, Louisville, Mississippi, Texas Tech, Florida International, Coastal Carolina, Augusta State, Yale, Kentucky, Stetson, UNC Wilmington, Fairleigh Dickinson and Alabama State.

Eight teams and two individuals at each of the three regional sites advance to the NCAA National Championship May 17-20 in Bryan, Texas.

TCU is one of just seven programs to record a top-20 finish at the NCAA Championship in each of the last four seasons. The others are Arizona State, Duke, Oklahoma State, Purdue, UCLA and USC.

The streak of 16 consecutive NCAA postseason appearances for the women's golf program ranks second at TCU, behind only the 21 in a row by the Horned Frog men's golf team.

With titles at the MWC Championship and the Alamo Invitational, TCU has won two tournament championships in the same season for the first time since 1997-98 when it captured the Dick McGuire Invitational and WAC Championship.
