FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU will open its conference schedule Wednesday night at San Diego State. Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. CT.

The Horned Frogs, who are now 8-6 on the season, are coming off an impressive 76-69 victory over nationally ranked Oklahoma Sunday night.

Emily Carter scored 26 points, while Helena Sverrisdottir added 24 to help TCU down the Sooners (No. 14 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) on Sunday, the Horned Frogs' 28th home win in their last 29 tries.

The Last Time Out
Emily Carter and Helena Sverrisdottir combined to score 12 of TCU's last 13 points to lead the Horned Frogs to a 76-69 victory over No. 14 Oklahoma Sunday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

In a game that saw nine lead changes and 10 ties, Carter made bucket-after-bucket down the stretch, including six-straight points in the closing minutes that helped seal the Frog victory in front of 4,003 spectators at the DMC. The senior finished the night with a game-high 26 points, while also grabbing eight boards.

Sverrisdottir, who moved into No. 4 all-time in career field goals made in program history Sunday, was just as dangerous, scorching the Sooners for 24 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 12-of-13 from the charity stripe.

Finally, sophomore DeLisa Gross had another solid outing with 11 points and six boards. Gross has now scored in double-figures in five of her last seven outings. Fellow sophomore Starr Crawford just missed her fourth double-double of the season with a game-high 14 rebounds, while also chipping in with nine points. .

The All-Time Series
TCU and SDSU will be meeting for only the 16th time in program history Wednesday. The Horned Frogs, who have won two out of the last four meetings against the Aztecs, went 1-1 against SDSU last season. Overall, TCU owns a 10-5 advantage in the series all-time. The Frogs haven't won in San Diego since a 73-54 decision in 2008.

Last season, Helena Sverrisdottir and Emily Carter each broke the 20-point barrier to lead TCU to an 80-63 victory at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. In San Diego, SDSU jumped out to an early lead and never looked back during an 84-61 victory.

Breaking Down San Diego State
San Diego State comes into the conference season with a 6-6 record overall. In their last outing, the Aztecs dropped a 96-52 decision to No. 7 Texas A&M. Senior center Paris Johnson led SDSU with 12 points, while Coco Davis chipped in with eight points.

Johnson has led the Aztecs so far this season, averaging 17.8 points per game and 8.9 boards. Sophomore Courtney Clements is also having a solid season, averaging 11.2 points per game.

Conference Openers Under Mittie
Head Coach Jeff Mittie is 4-1 in Mountain West Conference openers. During those contests, the Horned Frogs have downed their opponent by an average score of 77.4-56.4. TCU hasn't lost a conference opener since falling to Wyoming, 68-67, in 2006.

Overall, Mittie is 7-4 in conference openers during his time at TCU.

TCU Looking To Match Previous MWC Success
When the Horned Frogs open up defense of their 2009-10 Mountain West Conference regular season championship Wednesday, they will look to continue their recent success in conference play. During the previous five seasons, the Frogs own a 59-21 all-time league record in the MWC and are the only team to record at least 11 wins in each of the past five seasons.

Horned Frogs Post Impressive Victory
When TCU defeated No. 14/15 Oklahoma Sunday, 76-69, it continued some very impressive numbers. TCU has now defeated at least one ranked opponent each of the past nine seasons. The Frogs have also won 28 of their last 29 home games. Overall, TCU's last two victories over a nationally ranked foe have come against Big 12 South schools in Texas A&M and Oklahoma, respectively.

Wrapping Up Non-Conference Play
Since entering the Mountain West Conference, TCU has only lost one time in its final non-conference game, falling 79-75 to SMU in 2008. Overall, the Horned Frogs are 5-1 during that stretch, while head coach Jeff Mittie is 9-3 as head coach of TCU in its final non-conference game.

Horned Frogs Continue To Impress In NCAA
Through 14 games, the Frogs have done quite nicely among the nation's best. TCU ranks No. 29 overall in 3-point field goal percentage (.366). The Horned Frogs also moved into the top 50 in scoring offense, ranking No. 47 overall. Finally, TCU sits No. 45 nationally in free-throw percentage (.734), No. 31 Field Goal Percentage Defense (.351) and No. 22 Turnovers Per Game (15.1).

Individually, Emily Carter paces the Frogs', ranking No. 15 overall in scoring average with a 20.6 average. Fellow senior Helena Sverrisdottir sits No. 52 in points per game, while averaging 17.6 points. She also ranks No. 50 overall in 3-point field goal percentage (.412). Carter sits No. 19 in free throw percentage (89.7) and in the top-50 in 3-point field goal percentage (.416) and attempts per game (2.6). Finally, sophomore Starr Crawford moved into No. 52 in rebounds per game (9.3).

TCU In The Mountain West Conference
14 games into the season, the Horned Frogs lead the conference in scoring offense (72.9) and 3-point field goal percentage (.366). The Frogs also sit No. 2 in free throw percentage (.734), field goal percentage (.425), field goal percentage defense (.351), turnover margin (+1.31) and defensive rebounds (28.6).

Individually, Emily Carter leads the conference in scoring average (20.6) and free throw percentage (.897). She also ranks in the top 2 in three-point field goals made (37). Helena Sverrisdottir currently sits No. 5 in scoring (17.6) in the conference. Finally, sophomore Starr Crawford ranks No. 2 in rebounding (9.3) and offensive rebounds (3.1) and No. 3 in defensive rebounds (6.2).
