FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's basketball team will continue post-season play Thursday against Oral Roberts in the opening round of the 2011 Women's NIT at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Start time for the contest against the Golden Eagles will be announced on Tuesday. The winner of Thursday's game will take on the winner of Southern versus Tulane in round two.
TCU comes into Thursday's contest with a 22-10 overall record. The Horned Frogs, who have won four out of their last five games, fell to Utah in the Mountain West Conference Tournament finals in overtime this past Saturday. The Frogs qualified for the MWC finals for the first time in program history by downing New Mexico in the semifinals.
Oral Roberts brings a 21-10 overall record into Thursday night. The Golden Eagles captured the Summit League regular-season title by going 16-2 during conference play. Overall, ORU averages 85.2 points per game and is led by Kevi Luper, who captured her second-straight Summit League Player of the Year honor earlier this season. The sophomore leads the NCAA in both points and steals per game with averages of 23.9 and 3.7, respectively.
TCU will be playing in its second WNIT Tournament in school history. The Horned Frogs went 2-1 overall in 2008.
