GoFrogs: TCU to Open Big 12 Play at KU on Jan. 6

FORT WORTH – The Big 12 Conference announced the 18-game men's basketball schedule on Tuesday.

As previously announced, TCU will play home and away games with Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Texas Tech and West Virginia. The Frogs will play only at home against UCF, Houston, Oklahoma and Texas. Road games only will be against BYU, Kansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma State.

The Horned Frogs will begin its 11th season in the Big 12 on Jan. 6 at Kansas for a marquee time slot of 1 p.m. on CBS. Last season TCU handed KU its worst home loss under Bill Self, 83-60.

TCU hosts Oklahoma for the final time in conference play on Jan. 9 and hosts Houston for the first time in 11 seasons on Jan. 13.

The Frogs will play three of their next four on the road with a game at Cincinnati on Jan. 16 before returning home to play Iowa State on Jan. 20. The road games continue at Oklahoma State on Jan. 23 and Baylor on Jan. 27.

TCU then will have three of its next four at home starting with Texas Tech on Jan. 30 and Texas on Feb. 3. After a trip to Iowa State on Feb. 19, the Frogs host West Virginia on Feb. 12.

TCU hosts Cincinnati on Feb. 24 and then two days later it hosts Baylor on ESPN's Big Monday with an 8 p.m. tip on Feb. 26.

The Frogs finish up the season at BYU on March 2, at West Virginia on March 6 and hosting UCF on March 9.

The Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship will take place March 12-16 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.

TCU returns five players, including two regular starters from last season's team that went 22-13 overall and 9-9 with a fifth-place finish in the Big 12 Conference. All-Big 12 performer Emanuel Miller is the Horned Frogs' leading returning scorer after averaging 12.3 points and 6.5 rebounds. Jamie Dixon is in his eighth season as TCU's head coach and 21st overall.

Season tickets are available by visiting GoFrogs.com. The first chance to see the team will be on Oct. 27 at Schollmaier Live featuring Rick Ross. The free event starts at 7 p.m.
