GoFrogs: TCU Drops Big 12 Opener At Kansas
FORT WORTH – No. 5 TCU's 13-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-1 loss at Kansas Friday night at Hoglund Ballpark. The Horned Frogs were held to just four hits in the contest.

The Rundown
TCU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first. Peyton Chatagnier led off the game with a base hit and stole second. He was standing on third with one out and scored on Logan Maxwell ground out for a 1-0 TCU lead.

Neither team could muster much offense, but a lead-off walk in the fifth turned into a 2-1 Kansas lead as Chase Diggins hit a two-run home run down the left field line.

The Jayhawks picked up an insurance run in the seventh. Another lead-off walk followed by two wild pitches had the runner at third with one out. An RBI-groundout pushed the lead to 3-1.

Payton Tolle (1-1) took the loss after allowing two runs on five hits in four innings of work. He walked one and struck out six. Ben Abeldt tossed two scoreless. Hunter Hodges, Chase Hoover and Colt Taylor all pitched 2/3 of an inning.

With the loss, TCU falls to 13-1 on the season and 0-1 in Big 12 play. The series continues Saturday afternoon with first pitch set for 2 p.m. Kole Klecker will get the start for the Horned Frogs. The contest will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
