After trailing 35-29 at halftime, the Frogs (6-1) turned up the defense and outscored the Mustangs (6-4), 38-24 in the second.</p><p> </p><p>SMU had its largest lead of the game, 33-23, with 2:22 to play in the first half after a 3-pointer by its leading scorer Jahmal McMurray, who finished with 19 points.</p><p> </p><p>The Frogs' defense locked down in the second half, holding the Mustangs to 24 percent shooting from the field and 1-of-14 from 3-point range in the period. Dallas native <a href="https://gofrogs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=400" target="_blank">JD Miller</a> scored 12 of his season-high 15 points in the second half including a big dunk to put TCU up seven with 1:26 to play.</p><p> </p><p>TCU trailed for most of the game until a layup by junior guard <a href="https://gofrogs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=392" target="_blank">Desmond Bane</a> gave TCU its first lead since it was 11-10 with 12:02 left in the first half.
