GoFrogs: Notes On A Scorecard

NOTES ON A SCORECARD It's safe to say there's never been a more historic Sunday at TCU than what we just saw. From braving the early-morning chill to see the implosion of Amon G. Carter Stadium's West grandstands to receiving an invitation to the Rose Bowl, we'll always remember Dec. 5, 2011.

BUY THROUGH TCU

Please support the Horned Frogs by making sure to purchase your Rose Bowl tickets through TCU. This is very important to us. We've had an incredible demand through the first couple days of availability. Sean Conner, our director of ticket operations, and his staff have done a great job in handling everyone's requests. We turned Arizona into a sea of purple last January. Let's do the same in Pasadena. If you're making the trip, please remember to buy your tickets through TCU and spread the word to others as well.

THE GRANDDADDY OF THEM ALL

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl. It just shows what can happen when you dare to dream. When Gary Patterson first came to campus in 1998, could anyone envision us playing on New Year's Day in the "Granddaddy of Them All?" Congratulations to our football student-athletes and coaches. The trip to Pasadena is a great reward for an outstanding season.

THE IMPLOSION

While a little sad to see our trademark press box side at Amon G. Carter Stadium gone, it's also a great opportunity to embrace what the future holds for us. It was rewarding to see so many people come out early on a Sunday morning, especially the TCU students, to say goodbye to an old friend. These are definitely exciting times for the Horned Frogs and our most visible athletics facility is right at the forefront.

WATCH PARTY

We thank everyone who came to our BCS Selection Show Watch Party. Our student-athletes and coaches were very appreciative to walk through the tunnel of the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum and see 2,500 people present to share the moment with them. Let's look at making this an annual tradition.

NATIONAL EXPOSURE

Between the announcement of the Big East Conference, our trip to the Rose Bowl and the Amon G. Carter Stadium implosion, it seems like TCU has been at the top of the national headlines for the better part of a week. This benefits not only our football team but our entire athletics program and campus. The Horned Frogs are hot right now and these are definitely great times to be at TCU.

BANQUET CIRCUIT

Football student-athletes Jake Kirkpatrick and Tejay Johnson will be hitting the road this week as finalists for national awards. Jake is in Houston for the Rotary Lombardi Award before heading to the ESPN College Football Awards Show in Orlando, where he'll meet up with teammate Tejay Johnson. Tejay is one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, recognizing the nation's top defensive back.
