GoFrogs: No. 5 TCU Cruises Past ACU in Season Opener

FORT WORTH - No. 5 TCU took care of business to commence the 2024 season.

The Horned Frogs shut out Abilene Christian 7-0 on Wednesday inside the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

TCU did not drop a set all dual. The Horned Frogs notched consecutive 6-4 doubles victories on courts one and two, then got off the court in straight sets in all six singles matches.

"Here we go, it is the best time of the year, college tennis starts," said head coach David Roditi. "We got a good win here at home over ACU. I thought our guys did a great job of taking care of business. They played really well, good level. We've got some new faces on the team, hopefully you get to know them during the season. We start 1-0 and now we get to play here at home for our ITA Kickoff Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. We play at 2 p.m. on Saturday against Rice. I hope we get a lot of people here to support us. We get to defend our 2022 and 2023 national championships, so come out support us and support the guys. More than anything, we are happy that the season has started. Go Frogs."

The Horned Frogs moved to 42-9 all-time in season-openers and 12-2 under Roditi with the victory. Roditi has yet to drop a home-opener since assuming the program helm in 2010.

Wednesday's win extended TCU's program-best indoor winning streak to 26 matches dating back to the 2022 season.
