GoFrogs: NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – A fantastic showing in air rifle on Day 2 of the NCAA Championships helped No. 2 TCU overcome a six-point deficit to claim the program's fourth National Championship. TCU fired a 2,385 in air rifle to claim the discipline title.

The National Championship trophy will join the team titles from 2010, 2012 and 2019. The air rifle championship is the fifth in program history (2010, 2012, 2021, 2022). TCU, under the guidance of head coach Karen Monez, remains the only all-female squad to take home a National Championship.

TCU's team score of 2,385 in air rifle combined with the 2,347 from smallbore put up a championship-winning total of 4,732, topping West Virginia (4,729) by three shots.

TCU started the day strong as Katie Zaun fired a 598 and Stephanie Grundsoee a 596. Jeanne Haverhill gave the Frogs a strong 593 to round out the relay.

The duo of Mikole Hogan and Stephanie Allan did yeoman's work to help the Horned Frogs secure the title in the final relay of the day. Allan fired a 595 and Hogan a 596 to seal the victory.

Grundsoee, Hogan and Zaun each earned a spot in the NCAA Individual Finals. Zaun finished just off the podium in fourth. Hogan was sixth and Grundsoee seventh.

Alaska-Fairbanks fired a team score of 4,719 to finish third. The Nanooks were followed by Kentucky (4,718), Air Force (4,709), Navy (4,698), Ole Miss (4,693) and Nebraska (4,680).
