AUBURN, Ala. – After the opening 18 holes of the NCAA Regional, the TCU men's golf team is tied for third place.
The Horned Frogs made it through the hilly and hot terrain at the Auburn University Club on Monday with an opening round score of 4-over 292. TCU is tied with No. 13 Auburn (+4) and one position better than No. 1 Vanderbilt (+6) and No. 25 Ohio State (+6). Chattanooga is in the lead after shooting 5-under 283.
Jacob Skov Olesen is tied for third place with a score of 2-under 70. The senior went 3-under 33 on the back nine with three birdies.
Aymeric Laussot is tied for 15th place after a round of 1-over 73. Brent Hamm was one stroke back at 2-over 74. Hamm was fantastic early on at 2-under through 11 holes.
Gustav Frimodt and Maxence Giboudot are tied for 34th place at 3-over 75.
The second round will begin at 8:30 for TCU, Ohio State and Vanderbilt off hole No. 10.
