FORT WORTH – Following an AVCA/CBVB Pair of the week honor, Hailey Hamlett and Anhelina Khmil were additionally honored as the CUSA Pair of the Week.
This past weekend, the duo had a 4-0 showing at the Fight in the Fort. From the No. 1 position, the duo defeated FGCU (21-14, 21-17) and then earned three consecutive ranked wins. The two defeated No. 13 FIU (21-14, 12-21, 15-9), No. 14 Washington (21-15, 21-11) and No. 11 Arizona State (21-16, 21-17). All four points scored by the duo were match-clinchers.
Not only did the pair go 4-0, but the duo only lost one set the entire weekend. Hamlett/Khmil are now 19-1 on the season all from the No. 1 position. The two are currently ranked No. 2 for top NCAA pairs/players on court one this season according to collegebeachvb.com.
This is the third conference award given to the dynamic duo. Following their National Pairs Championship win, the two were awarded CUSA Pair of the Month in November. Hamlett/Khmil were also named CUSA Pair of the Week after a 4-0 weekend at the Third Coast Classic, where Hamlett and Khmil broke TCU's program record for largest margin of victory (32) against UCA (Feb. 28).
