Green Selected for College All-Star Tour of Far East

Junior forward will play nine games May 17 through 30

FORT WORTH—Junior forward Garlon Green has been selected to take part in the 2011 Reach USA Cultural Exchange Trip to the Far East. The trip will feature a college all-star team playing nine games May 17 through 30.

This year’s trip will see the American squad playing nine games, seven against a Lithuanian team and two against a Brazilian all-star team.

A native of Houston, Texas, Green is one of the returning leaders from a young TCU squad in 2010-11. The team leader in games started with 32, the 6-7, 210-pound forward finished the season as the squad’s top scorer with 369 points (11.2 ppg average), which ranked No. 18 among all Mountain West Conference players. Green was also second on the team in rebounding (4.6 rpg) and field-goal percentage (48.4 percent) and third in blocked shots (13), while he fell only one 3-pointer shy of meeting the minimum requirement of makes in order to lead the MWC in 3-point shooting (47.6 percent).
