Glasgow And Jennings Recognized As Nation's Best

Only one opponent has reached 200 yards passing on TCU this season

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU safeties coach Chad Glasgow and cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings have been named the National Defensive Back Coaches of the Year by footballscoop.com. Glasgow is in his 10th season as TCU's safeties coach. Jennings is in his third year coaching the Horned Frogs' cornerbacks.

TCU is leading the nation in total defense (215.4 yards) for a third straight season. The Horned Frogs also have the nation's top pass defense, allowing just 126.3 yards per game. Miami (Fla.) is second at 146.3.

Only one opponent has reached 200 yards passing on TCU this season. Eighty-nine of the 120 FBS programs allow an average of at least 200 yards per game in the air.

TCU opponents have completed just 48.0 percent of their pass attempts and have thrown 12 interceptions with just 10 touchdowns.

The Horned Frogs also lead the nation in scoring defense (11.4 points), fewest first downs allowed per game (11.3), opponent third-down percentage (21.9) and three-and-outs forced per game (6.4). TCU is third in run defense (89.2 yards).

TCU safety Tejay Johnson is a consensus first-team All-American and one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented to the nation's top defensive back.

Johnson was a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection, while fellow safety Colin Jones and cornerback Jason Teague were second-team picks.
