FWST: TCU's Patterson named Fort Worth's Outstanding Citizen

At 4:55 p.m. on Tuesday, TCU football coach Gary Patterson had a very good reason to take the rest of the evening off. There was a night of festivities planned in his honor by the Exchange Club of Fort Worth.
Instead, Patterson spent his late afternoon tending to an athlete's academic needs.
"I was still trying to work on academics with one young man," Patterson said. "I was trying to help a kid get into summer school; tell him how to do it and why he needed to do it. He should do it or he just needed to go home." ...
