The true freshman quarterback earned Big 12 newcomer of the week honors for his performance, as well as being selected to the Davey O’Brien Award Great 8 and being a Manning Award Star of the Week.

I like the strategy of trying to not put too much pressure on Max, accepting that he is a true freshman and grow him up the best way possible. I'm guessing staff and upper classman tried to shield him as much as possible on Sunday and Monday so he can get back into a routine quickly.
