The significance of the series win might not be known until postseason pairings are announced at the end of May, but the weekend results are no doubt a tonic for a Horned Frogs team missing two of its regular starting pitchers because of injuries.

What is clearly significant at the moment, though, is how TCU won the series, with sterling defense, clutch hitting and reliable starting pitching by Erik Miller and Andrew Mitchell, who gave the Frogs strong outings in Games 2 and 3. Why no Maxwell? When will Purke be back?

Purke likely not until post-season. Maxwell also with a sore arm I believe it was stated. Not sure if he will be back next weekend. Hope so, though Miller and Mitchell are coming up huge on the weekends for us. Huge. To take that series against a ranked team, in their bandbox of a stadium, missing two of your three weekend starters is, well, did I say huge?
