ESPN's meddling to keep Big 12 together last year

Wow, ESPN over paying to keep the Big 12 together and giving UT the LHN to keep it together appears to have backfired. ESPN overpaid last year to keep the Big 12 together not wanting superconferences and also losing a broadcast property. Problem is their creation of LHN appears to be the posion that could kill the Big 12. ESPN and UT might have slipped the LHN by fellow conference members if they hadn't pushed to air some Big 12 conference games and Texas high school games. That was too much to bear for some Big 12 members. ESPN and UT officals must be the most arrogant and naive out there to think wasn't going to be an issue. Are they really that stupid or arrogant. Probably both. Most idiots realize over-reaching gets them in trouble, appearntly UT and ESPN fail to realize this.

You hit the nail on the head. I find it interesting that even after OU, Tech and A&M raised concerns with the LHN, it wasn't until A&M leaving for the SEC that the Big 12 says "we'll address these concerns". So why wouldn't you address their concerns before? Why does it take something drastic like this for you to finally admit there's something terribly wrong with the way the LHN is set up?
