DMN: TCU-BYU no longer share a conference, but they share a history

FORT WORTH - TCU's meeting with BYU on Friday night at Cowboys Stadium is no longer a Mountain West Conference clash since BYU became an independent beginning this season. But considering the history between the programs, that's not the easiest fact to remember.
"You almost forget that," said defensive end Jon Koontz. "So we treat them almost like a conference opponent. It won't go on our conference record, but we're familiar with them and they're familiar with us. It's not like we're just playing a random school in the middle of the season." ...
