Sonny Cumbie, in particular, has drawn ire. Cumbie is the co-offensive coordinator and the quarterbacks coach, and has been with TCU since 2013. After the SMU loss, Patterson made Cumbie available for questions from the media, a rare occurrence that some saw as Patterson throwing Cumbie under the bus.
