Countdown Thread To Signing Deadline

The next 48 hours will determine the fate of Cron and Purke. Nobody is sure what will happen. Right now I give it a 40% chance both come back to school. That is better than it has been.

And, be happy for Kyle. He will soon realize his dream, and has $240k to show for his hard work.

I just added this update on Purke/Cron to the Around the Diamond blog.

- Sources confirm that Nationals GM Mike Rizzo spent this weekend in Houston speaking with Matt Purke's representative, Peter Vescovo.

Matt has already taken a physical with the Nationals, back in July at the Nationals complex where GM Mike Rizzo entertained Matt in the owners suite of Nationals ballpark.

Expect, as I have been reporting, that both sides will find common ground and make a deal. If they don't, I would be surprised, and happy.

No word on Cron, or his future, at this point.
