Colorado Springs Gazette: Air Force is worn down, blasted at TCU

FORT WORTH, TEXAS • After TCU scored with 16 seconds left in the first half, Air Force defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt put his hands on his knees. He looked at the ground below him for what seemed like an eternity.

The ensuing blowout seemed inevitable. Wallerstedt's defense had no answer for the Horned Frogs' offense, and Air Force's offense couldn't sustain any drives to help out.

TCU looked the part of a team that was ranked No. 4 in The Associated Press poll this week, dominating Air Force 38-7 at Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday night. The Horned Frogs gained 562 yards — the most Air Force has allowed during the Troy Calhoun era and the most since Air Force allowed 683 against BYU on Oct. 29, 2005.

There wasn't much to say afterwards. TCU is simply a much better team, and showed it.

"Right now there's a gap," Calhoun said. "That's stating the obvious." ...
