On the defensive end, Commodores starting pitcher Brandon Finnegan (TCU) helped Falmouth snag the win tonight with a dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Finnegan, coming out of his spring season with a 0-8 record with a 3.18 ERA, finally gets a well-deserved and overdue win on the Falmouth mound. He allowed just one earned run on three hits over the course of five innings.
“It wasn’t too fun going 0-8, but I was glad to come out here, throw a lot of strikes, and be on the mound for a while,” said Finnegan in a post-game interview. “It felt great to win the first game of the season with the Commodores.”
