Camp Lejeune Globe: TCU, Boise State deserve a shot at national title

The Bowl Championship Series selection committee continues to sweat each week as they watch Texas Christian University and Boise State University run through their competition like a hot knife through butter. Should one of the top two teams in the BCS, Oregon and Auburn, trip up before the end of the season, either TCU or Boise State should take their place in the national championship game.

Whether the committee will allow it or not is another story, as conspiracy theories continue to grow across the nation. The United States Supreme Court has been asked to look into the BCS and see whether or not they are holding a monopoly over the non-BCS conferences.

The most obvious solution to this problem would be to get rid of the BCS and go to a playoff system, which is what almost everyone but the heads of the BCS want. Thus, it’s most likely not going to happen.

What the BCS should do is give Boise State or TCU their shot at a national championship. They more than deserve it, regardless of how easy their schedule may be compared to other schools in bigger conferences like the Southeastern Conference. ...
