Boston Herald: Marcus Cannon in ‘unique’ place

FOXBORO — Marcus Cannon was prepared for this. He was ready to see his draft stock slide, from potential second-round selection to its home on Day 3. If he was concerned he didn’t show it. The TCU offensive lineman had more important things to worry about.
Cannon, whom the Patriots [team stats] selected with the 138th overall pick and their first yesterday, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after a biopsy of a mass in his pelvic area came back positive at the NFL scouting combine.
He began treatment for cancer Thursday and is set to conclude chemotherapy June 29. Cannon was appreciative of his being picked at all. ...
