Bears Hold On In Shootout To Defeat Red Raiders
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Everything was kind of blurry when Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty first opened his eyes.
After taking a high hit and being diagnosed with a mild concussion midway through the third quarter, all Petty could do was watch from the sideline as the fifth-ranked Bears held on for a 48-46 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday that made only one thing clear for the playoff contenders.
''It was a little too exciting,'' Petty said.
The Bears (10-1, 7-1 Big 12, No. 7 CFP) are guaranteed at least a share of their second consecutive conference title if they win their regular-season finale at home against No. 11 Kansas State (9-2, 7-1) next Saturday. ...

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Kansas State gave itself a few minutes in the locker room Saturday to celebrate.
The players celebrated a victory over rival Kansas, and a senior class that helped to restore the program to national prominence. They celebrated a magnificent performance by quarterback Jake Waters and a record-setting career by wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
Then, they all turned their thoughts to what lays ahead.
The No. 11 Wildcats' 51-13 romp over the Jayhawks set up a showdown at fifth-ranked Baylor next weekend. The winner will earn no worse than a tie for the Big 12 title, and could take the championship outright depending on what happens between TCU and Iowa State. ...

Howard Leads West Virginia Past Cyclones
AMES, Iowa (AP) - West Virginia might have found its quarterback of the future in the final game of the regular season.
Backup quarterback Skyler Howard threw three TD passes, Rushel Shell ran for 146 yards and West Virginia beat Iowa State 37-24 Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak.
Howard, a sophomore, was 21 of 40 for 285 yards in his first career start in place of Clint Trickett, who missed the game with a concussion.
Mario Alford added two TD catches for West Virginia (7-5, 5-4 Big 12), which finished above .500 in the Big 12 for the first time. ...
