Austin American-Statesman: TCU freshman from Stony Point discovers fast times of college hoops

FORT WORTH — Jordan Moore, TCU’s freshman center, recently was matched against Texas’ Imani Boyette, the Longhorns’ 6-foot-7 post with the wingspan of a wandering albatross.
Moore was an All-Central Texas center when she starred at Stony Point High School, where she averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 blocks a game as a senior. But at 6-3, she’s no longer the biggest player on the block. She’s absorbed several tough lessons in her first season of college basketball, one that’s been filled with the customary peaks and valleys.
“This season has not come naturally to me at all,” Moore said.
In that Jan. 20 matchup against Boyette, Moore learned it’s difficult to defend someone who’s four inches taller. Of course, Boyette also has 120 college games on her résumé, giving the senior an experience edge over almost everyone she faces. ...
