TCU 2023 spring camp notes: Dykes likes what he sees from Trey Sanders

TCU landed a good haul from the transfer portal and among the talented players new on the roster is Alabama transfer running back Trey Sanders.
Sanders was one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation out of the 2019 class. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder was rated a five-star and ranked as the No. 6 overall player and No. 1 running back in the nation according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Some analysts predicted Sanders as a future first-round pick.
However, Sanders time at Alabama was derailed by injuries. He missed his entire freshman season in 2019 and his 2020 season was cut short due to a hip injury he suffered in a car accident. He had his most productive season in 2021, rushing for 314 yards and two touchdowns on 72 carries. He appeared in just five games in 2022, rushing for 80 yards and a score on 14 carries.
