No. 5 TCU takes game one from No. 20 UCLA, 4-3​

FORT WORTH – Lupton Stadium had a playoff baseball feel to it on Friday night as No. 5 TCU (5-0) took down No. 20 UCLA (3-1) to open the weekend series, 4-3.

A close, well-pitched game by both teams raised the intensity as two talented lineups battled with minimal results.

“It was well-pitched on both sides,” TCU head coach Kirk Saarloos said after the game. “That’s what you know you’re going to get when you play UCLA. They’re going to pitch it really well and they’re going to play good, sound, fundamental baseball.”
