He looks ridiculous at this point. And he is.
No, but his team quit on him. Some of the [ Finebaum ] you guys worry about sometimes…
Gary can do damn near anything he wants am I’m not going to have a problem with it. And yeah, I recognize the irony, so what? It wasn’t like he quit on us.
FairDo you think he’d be a good coach in this new college football environment? I don’t.
I will always admire GP. He is our ball coach and the best in school history. He is a legend. The statue stays.
If he wants to coach Gaylor, fine. But it’s a poor move on his part. He knows the optics and the reaction. He should coach literally anywhere else. He knows exactly what he’s doing and what the result will be. That’s sad to me.
I don’t have any hard feelings. I’m not upset or angry. But if he roams a Baylor sideline in yellow it will gross me out.
TL;DR
As did Sonny’sNo, but his team quit on him.
Food for thoughtAgree with some of this but I really really wonder how he would’ve done had Bumpas not been with him for most of those years.
We're not talking about just any assistant. GP was a very successful former HC. I think it's quite possible.Has there been an instance when an assistant was hired to permanently replace his former boss after the boss was fired for poor performance? I can’t think of one.
Too easy. Jason Garrett.Has there been an instance when an assistant was hired to permanently replace his former boss after the boss was fired for poor performance? I can’t think of one.
I'll take all the snappers we can get.Looks like we are going to need a third highly recruited long snapper to have any chance at beating Baylor next year...

Your joke was subtle, but I caught it.TLDR
He was offered basically a lifetime, non coaching position but his ego wouldn't allow him to even consider it.wasn't gary fired by tcu? i mean, wth here?
Yeah but they got the gold mine and we got the shaft.Patterson vs Briles. Just like old times!
Apparently, and he's bored. Still very active with experience and raring to be a contributing coach. I understand his motives. His decision could have been Rice, Houston, but was Baylor. Gary still has in the back of his mind, a job as a HC at P5. He hasn't received many job offers yet, which makes him very nervous and makes him very scared. Can't hate Gary, no matter what he does, but this is sure a disappointment. Does he really need money that much?
