I agree that the super should have been in Fort Worth.

3 seed DBU advanced out of the regional of a top 8 national seed. 3 seed UVA advanced out of the regional that was supposed to come to our Super.

Makes zero sense.

Would have been nice to give our new head coach some extra post season practice in Lupton.
Inside info or just joking around?

OUCH!!!
Wasn’t Virginia the 2 seed and DBU our 3?

that is why they are traveling

in a normal year they would have traveled to Virginia

Sounds like in a normal year DBU and Virginia would both have to bid to host the Super. With the pre-determined sites this year, it seems like the NCAA decided that South Carolina(Founders Park), is better than Lupton.

On paper (and if results go according to scratch), each Super-Regional is designed to feature a National Seed and another Regional #1 seed, with the National Seed hosting the Super-Regional on their home field. If the National Seed loses in the Regional round, then the surviving teams from that bracket "bid" to serve as the home site. (In effect, the team with the better facilities will probably be chosen to host.) The team with the winning bid gets to host all three games (if necessary), but may not be the "home team" (in terms of batting last) for all three games. If a third game is needed in that situation, they flip a coin to determine which team will be the "home team."

DBU kinda got screwed didn't they? They took over our spot and have to travel to South Carolina. Virginia wasn't a top 16 seed. Doesn’t really matter to me but that super should be at Lupton.

Doesn't bother me a bit. Still hasn't been determined if they stayed in a local hotel last weekend or if they slept in their own bed. Either way, it's minimal travel and they weren't a national seed or host so they don't get any special perks.

That is a nice park.

Lupton definitely needs a makeover.

USC built that stadium after winning the CWS in 2010. And, yes it is first class in every way.

Edit: just watched that video and the guy mentioned that USC was playing Clemson that day. At the 2010 CWS, we would have coffee every morning with a bunch of USC and Clemson fans, and rehash the games from the previous day. It was hilarious to listen to those guys, including how much they truly hate each other.

That means DBU was the lower ranked No. 3 seed between the Patriots and Cavaliers.

Virginia batter just laced a bases clearing double to the wall in RC. Hit so hard that the second baseman jumped for it, yet still got to the wall. #frozenrope

DBU got one back but ran into an out at third on the play on a grounder to short. Would have been a 6-3 putout anyway, but...

5-3 Virginia going to the 6th.
