Oklahoma finally grants TCU QB Chandler Morris his release from national letter of intent

Oklahoma has released Chandler Morris from his national letter of intent. Finally.

OU coach Lincoln Riley informed Morris on Friday that OU would release Morris from his NLI, a source confirmed.

Morris hinted at the news in a social media post Saturday, using the hashtag “#freed.”

And since GP has all but said he doesn’t even get the chance to compete for the starting job. Glad he finally got the release but wish he was actually getting a chance to compete for the job here.

Morris doesn’t transfer here to be a backup for 3-4 years. That was his role at OU and it was crystal clear.

nobody ... including any coach (specifically Riley) or player at OU thinks Max Duggan is significantly better than Morris or there’s no chance for Morris to start this year

there will be pitchforks and pissed donors if this football team suffers through another year of Duggan performing like the past 2 years.

Morris will probably get a game or two worth of snaps due to Duggan being run too much and the increased chance of injury (a few series here and there, etc.)

Maybe if he made a bigger impressions, those words may be different.
