LSU receivers catching passes

TCU’s receivers dropped at least 4 passes a game that most High School Receivers could easily catch.

No, they didn't. They might have dropped 4 such passes in one game but to say they did it every game is a major exaggeration. After the first 4-5 games of the season there were noticeably fewer drops. The biggest problem with our offense is it collectively stunk.

Yes to all of the above but going forward, Max to get better, offensive line and receivers to be better also.

Why? Spring, Summer and Fall ball. They could not get worse with time, practice, and coaching. Max, like Dalton, Boykin, and Kenny, to show improvement in 2nd. year. How can the offensive line and receivers be worse? They won't - new young linemen coming coming up and Kelly will have the receivers improving. Go Frogs.

Here's a thought that our offensive coaches might look at: Get copies of all the LSU games this year and let Max and our receivers review and study them to the point whereby they might be able to duplicate or come close to implementing what LSU was able to do this year with their passing game. How to find open receivers, how to run routes and get open, how to catch and hold on to the ball, etc. The O line might watch it too to learn how to pass block and keep their QB from being pressured or sacked. What a novelty that would be! Just a thought.

Two major issues I saw in the passing game was that Max was always a fraction behind getting the ball out and we seem to have way too many 50/50 ball routes in the scheme. When your throwing 50/50 balls into coverage your WRs are going look pretty bad a lot of the time.

Max should improve his read quickness but I’m not convinced we’ll ever see a scheme that will help him

Yes that’s the key to becoming great. Just watch it a lot on tv.
