Gary Patterson stands by criticism of officiating vs. OU, Baylor

TCU head coach Gary Patterson isn't backing down from his postgame comments on the officiating during the Horned Frogs' 28-24 loss at CFP No. 9 Oklahoma that ended in controversial fashion.

Patterson, during his weekly session on the Big 12 head coaches teleconference Monday, once again called out the officiating crew for a late-game first down spot that negated the opportunity for the Frogs' offense to take the field one last time.

With less than two minutes to play, Oklahoma, facing a 3rd and 1 situation, picked up a first down that allowed the Sooners to run out the clock after quarterback Jalen Hurts ran the ball up the middle. Replay reviews, however, showed Hurts coming up well short of the first-down marker. Even after a lengthy review, the call on the field stood, and TCU's veteran head coach was none too pleased with the outcome.
