I know one thing: Tech should not expect the same treatment as an SEC/Big 10 blue blood. The NCAA could pop them just to make a point and stick it to the Big 12 at the same time.
These are no gimmies, especially the away games:
Oregon State
at Utah
at UH
KU
at ASU
at KSU
BYU
at WV
Np TCU? No Baylor? I do not like the Big 12 schedule philosophy.
I understand that you hate the current model of NCAAs. Fine. I do agree with you about the transfer portal. But why is it OK for a coach to leave at any time, but a player cannot? And why is it OK for a coach to pull a player's scholarship at any time, but it sucks for a player to be able to...
The positive thing to me is that the money is out in the open now. Fair or not. There have always been greedy players and corrupt coaches and boosters. At least we know there are no rules now.
Imagine how successful TCU would have been in the mid '80s if the NCAA had not crushed us after Wacker...
That “terrible” UH team beat K-State. Why isn’t anyone calling out the KSU coach who just finished 8-4 despite being the preseason favorite to win the Big 12? How many playoff games has he won?
Double standard?
If we do struggle this year, I doubt our fan base is going to raise millions of $ to fire Sonny. Our fans complained about rising ticket costs & the loss of a home game against an ACC team, so they are raise how many millions to fire Sonny?
Come on.
What alumni are going to fork a million...
It is nice to play Baylor every year home and away, but I am curious to know why Tech is not automatic home and away games every year, too. They are our two biggest rivals. Dumb to not schedule us with both of them every year. There has to be a better way to do the scheduling and preserve our...
Tech and all of these schools on this list will learn that the portal is a crapshoot. If you hit on 50% of your transfers coming in, then you've done a good job. If you expect any more, then you are likely going to be in big trouble.
Mark is a great guy, but I don't remember Rece Davis or anyone at ESPN pushing for TCU over Ohio State to get in the playoffs back in 2014. So, this is a BS statement.
Again, feel awful for Mark, but ESPN is never going to fight for TCU regardless of who is our SID. Never.
I have no problem with players getting paid. They deserve their slice of the pie. My top two issues are the two super conferences rigging the playoffs & the endless cycles of transfers. It is challenging to learn all the new players in every sport every season. It takes a lot of the fun out of it.
Why does everyone think OU is going to be so good this year? Because the Boomers beat Bama last year? This is just another example of Blue Bloods getting a whole bunch of love in the preseason. They have the worst coach in the SEC. Why would anyone believe in Venables?
In the past, TCU never made the playoffs or a Rose Bowl or Fiesta Bowl unless the Frogs were undisputed league champions. Why would that change now? Why would we expect it to change now? We've always earned our way into the playoffs/BCS bowl game. I would not have it any other way.
If we win...
How many years are left on his contract? I bet he will be fine until his contract runs out - good or bad. I don't see how we have the cash to fire and hire a new baseball staff plus pay the players.
To be clear, CKS should be on the hot seat. Last two years were disappointing. I just can't...
Come on. Sonny’s buyout is so big that he was never in danger of being fired. I don’t believe the donors were going to give our former AD the massive check to pay him to go away. Even if we disappoint this year, I doubt they would do it this year.
When was the last time we fired a coach without...
TCU fans bitched and moaned about playing in Highland Park for over 25 years. Our administration finally listens to us about something and cancels the series. Now, all we do is [ hundin] and complain about not playing SMU in its crappy, high school stadium in Highland Park. Typical.
We don’t miss...
