Even when you have depth, you’re bound to spend some time in the shallow end.

Entering the season, Baylor coach Scott Drew pointed to his roster depth as a potential team strength. But once you get into the thick of the Big 12 race and you’re facing a litany of ranked teams and repeatedly playing one-possession games, it stands to reason that most coaches will shorten their benches.

Drew is no exception. In Baylor’s 82-76 overtime loss to No. 2 Houston on Saturday, Drew played all five of his starters 34 minutes or more. Starting guards Jayden Nunn, Ja’Kobe Walter and RayJ Dennis all played 43 out of a potential 45 minutes.

This is basically irrelevant, but Baylor's new field-house is an absolute gem. A proper college basketball venue. (And may the Frogs' winning streak there continue until the end of time.)
