Monroe News Star: Tech awaits word on its bowl opponent

RUSTON — Louisiana Tech's upcoming bowl game could start to feel all the more real as early as this afternoon.
Junior defensive back Chad Boyd said the full "bowl game mentality" might not hit Ruston until the Bulldogs (8-4, 6-1) learned their opponent, which the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl will announce this weekend.
Not that Boyd, his teammates and coaches necessarily have a preference as to who it may be.
"It's just one of those games where it doesn't matter who it is," he said. "We've just gotta go up there and ball, show the type of team we know we are and hopefully get a win." ...
