FORT WORTH – TCU women's tennis hosted its first event of the year Oct. 26-29 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs welcomed hidden dual play throughout the four-day TCU Invitational between Baylor, BYU, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State and Notre Dame. Competing for TCU across singles and doubles were Helena Narmont, Isabel Pascual, Margaret Polk and Yu-Chin Tsai.
Narmont collected the most wins for the Frogs over the weekend in both singles and doubles. In singles the junior defeated Kara Wheatley of BYU 6-2, 7-5 on day one, Silivia Costache of Kansas 6-3, 6-2 on day three and Zuzanna Frankowska of Baylor 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 on day four. The Estonian was 2-2 in doubles taking down a Kansas State pair 8-6 on day one alongside Pascual and a duo from Kansas 8-6 on day three with Polk.
Pascual wrapped up the invite 2-1 in singles after two super tie-breaker wins. The senior defeated BYU's Tina Li 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-4 on Thursday and Illinois' Megan Heuser 1-6, 6-2, 10-4 on Friday.
Polk earned her second singles victory of the season on Sunday where she took down Kate Belia of Notre Dame in the super tie-break (6-2, 4-6, 10-8). The Alabama native collected a doubles win alongside Narmont on Saturday.
