GoFrogs: TCU’s Restoration and Wellness Center Named in Honor of the Simpson Family

FORT WORTH -- TCU Athletics has announced that its new restoration and wellness center, currently under construction, will be named the Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center in recognition of the legacy gift made by the Simpson family.

The 10,000-square-foot facility is named in honor of the Simpson family and stewarded by Bob R. Simpson, chairman of TXO Partners and chairman of the Executive Committee of the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers, and Gary D. Simpson, co-founder of REVFIT Texas and executive at TXO Partners.

"We cannot thank the Simpsons enough for their phenomenal generosity," TCU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jeremiah Donati said. "In making the Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center a reality, they have ensured all 515 TCU student-athletes will have the latest technology and innovation available to chase their dreams, maximize their potential from a mental and physical standpoint and establish wellness behaviors that will last a lifetime. Our student-athletes know Bob, Gary and Amy Aliz Simpson are fully invested and committed to their well-being, body, mind and spirit and will be honored to utilize a facility with the Simpson family name on it."

The Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center is one of four facilities included in the $50 million donor-funded Human Performance Center Projects. Scheduled for completion in July 2025, the Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center will make TCU the only school in the nation and just the third facility in the United States with a dedicated Snow Room.

The Snow Room, which can hold 8-to-10 users, features sub-freezing temperatures with actual flurries to assist in the post-practice and workout recovery process. The flurries will be purple to match TCU's official school color.

"Our family has lived in Fort Worth for more than 50 years, earning our way, creating businesses and jobs, revitalizing treasured buildings and raising our families," said Bob R. Simpson. "We honor that relationship with the city. Today, we are honored to expand our journey by fortifying our relationship with the 'University of Fort Worth' – TCU. Our family is committing to an investment in the future of TCU's student body and elite athletic programs with the Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center – a leap forward in collegiate athletics technology."

The Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center will have a spa-like ambience featuring a nutrition area, cryo lounge, hydro massage pods, sauna, red light therapy, social and individual recovery spaces and a hydrotherapy pool.

The cryo lounge will have targeted heat and cold therapy featuring an advanced recovery chair with complementary cold and heat zones. Cold is applied to target soreness or minor aches and pains, while heat is applied to other areas of the body for a comfortable experience. The hydro massage for wellness and muscle recovery provides powerful waves of heated water massage, targeting specific areas of the body for a personalized and relaxing experience. Red light therapy can have a positive effect on a person's sleep, skin, fitness, mental acuity and overall well-being.

"Our commitment to the best physical and mental health of all TCU student-athletes is perfectly aligned with our family mission for the greater community through our REVFIT fitness studios," Gary D. Simpson said. "A healthy mind, a strong body, and an energized spirit elevate life and propel success. This legacy gift supports the goal to help all TCU student-athletes across the 22 sports, developing and nurturing their fullest potential. We also applaud the TCU leadership for initiating the bold steps to build our best future."

In addition to the Simpson Family Restoration and Wellness Center, the Simpsons' gift will also endow in perpetuity the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Football Human Performance, held by Kaz Kazadi.

"We love and respect all our student-athletes and appreciate their hard work and incredible dedication to their teams and to TCU," Amy Aliz Simpson, co-founder of REVFIT Texas, said. "And first and foremost, they are talented human beings who deserve a place to recover and rejuvenate. The Restoration and Wellness Center will give them not only a haven to revive but a place where they feel their bodies, minds, and spirits are cared for in their 'home away from home.'"

The facility will also feature artistic elements to pay tribute to legendary TCU Football Coach Dutch Meyer, who led the Horned Frogs to national championships in 1935 and 1938 while coining the iconic phrase still used to this day, "Fight 'em till hell freezes over, then fight 'em on the ice."
