WACO, Texas - Micah Peavy scored a career-high 16 points in TCU's 72-62 loss at No. 7 Baylor Saturday at the Ferrell Center in Waco.

The transfer from Texas Tech made a season-high six field goals on nine attempts and was 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Emanuel Miller also scored 16 points and brought down a team-high seven rebounds. Joining the Horned Frogs (16-8, 5-7) in double figures was Mike Miles, who scored 13 points and tied a team-high with five assists.

Baylor (22-5, 10-4) led the entire game and was led in scoring by Jeremy Sochan, who had 17 points off the bench.

TCU closed the scoring gap at the end of the game after trailing by 21 points, its largest of the game, with just under five minutes to play. The Horned Frogs went on 13-1 run to cut it to nine, 71-62, with 43.1 to play. TCU's final scoring attempt resulted in a missed 3-pointer by Miles with 30 seconds remaining.

TCU had 15 turnovers but finished with 18 assists, its most in Big 12 play this season. The Bears capitalized at the free throw line, making 22-of-29 for 75.9 percent. The Frogs were 6-of-11 for 54.5 percent.

TCU continues a stretch of playing three games in five days on Monday at 7 p.m. at home against West Virginia. The game is on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

  • TCU's 18 assists were its most in Big 12 play this season.
  • TCU outrebounded Baylor, 35-29. The Frogs moved to 15-5 this season and 96-31 under Dixon when outrebounding their opponent. TCU has been outrebounded only three times this season.
  • Both teams were 2-of-11 from 3-point range for 18.2 percent.
Individual Notes
  • Emanuel Miller was 8-of-14 from the field. It was a season-high for makes.
  • Miller finished with 16 points, the eighth time this season scoring in double-figures.
  • Miller led the team with seven rebounds. It was the 11th time he's led the team in rebounding.
  • Mike Miles scored 13 points, his 16th time scoring in double-figures out of 21 games played this season.
  • Micah Peavy scored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, a season-high for makes. His previous high in points was 14 against Northwestern State on Nov. 25, 2020 when he was a freshman at Texas Tech.
  • Eddie Lampkin left the game with a right knee injury with 26.7 on the clock in the first half. He returned to the game briefly, with 13:09 remaining in the second half and played just under four minutes in the second.
