GoFrogs: Culbreath Claims 5K Title on Day One in Waco

WACO, Texas –
TCU track and field wrapped up Day One of the Michael Johnson Invitational on Friday night at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium.

London Culbreath won her first 5K as a Horned Frog with her time of 16:44.34, good for the ninth-fastest time in program history.

Also notching all-time program marks were Quinn Calhoun and Iyana Gray. Calhoun finished third among collegiate athletes and fourth overall in the women's pole vault. She cleared 4.02m (13' 2.25"), the second-highest outdoor mark in TCU history.

Gray continued her stellar season by running a wind-legal 23.17 in the 200m, the eighth-fastest outdoor time in TCU history.

TCU's distance squad shined at the Michael Johnson Invitational. In addition to Culbreath's 5K win, Mariana Martinez placed second in the 1500m with her personal-best time of 4:33.00. Stone Burke finished second overall in the men's 5K with his personal-best time of 14:35.16. Peyton McQuillan (16:59.17) and Noah Winters (14:40.02) came in third in the 5K, respectively.

Ryan Martin ran a personal-best in the 1500m, coming in fifth overall with his time of 3:48.41. He is now sixth on TCU's all-time outdoor records list.

Emma Seetoo claimed the top spot for TCU in the women's long jump as she placed sixth overall with her leap of 6.19m (20' 3.75"). In the women's discus, Mathilda Bjorklund improved on her second-best mark in TCU history with her personal-best throw of 56.92m (186' 9").
