TCU defensive back Tony Wallace opts out of season

TCU defensive back Tony Wallace has opted out of the season, 247Sports’ affiliate HornedFrogBlitz reported earlier today. Wallace appeared in just two games a season ago for the Frogs as he battled injuries, and did not see much time this season. He is no longer on the roster.
Originally a 2017 recruit out of Arizona, he signed with the Arizona Wildcats out of high school. After playing as a true freshman for the Wildcats, Wallace left the PAC-12 program and headed to Independence, Kansas to play for Indy C.C. In 2018 he was regarded as one of the top JUCO cornerbacks in the nation, ranked No. 15 overall. TCU offered Wallace late in the process and after getting heavy interest from Nebraska and Minnesota, Wallace committed to the Frogs just one day before the early signing period. It was a close battle between the Frogs and Cornhuskers for his services and some felt that he had given Nebraska a silent commitment before visiting TCU.
