Where do college football programs get their players?

https://www.axios.com/college-football-games-players-recruiting?utm_placement=newsletter An in-depth article that analyzes recruiting numbers by state. Unsurprisingly, Texas (the State, not TU) provides a plethora of the nation's college football players. At the end of the article there are...

    Looking back at the WAC

A quick history of the WAC, its rise and fall and possible resurrection. Some LT clips as well. And some of the fatal flaws that entered and killed the WAC most of us remember may be repeating themselves in one or more of its successors.

OT: The Great Martian War, 1913-1917

Last night I stumbled across this very interesting, very entertaining film. It's in the format of a History Channel documentary and includes a lot of clips from WWI which lends a strong sense of authenticity. It's a well-produced 88-minute "documentary."

    OT: Chernobyl documentary

The Science Channel has produced a documentary I found exceptionally well-done and totally fascinating. It's "Chernobyl: Secrets, Lies and the Untold Stories." I'm watching it the second time this week. A great deal of "just the facts, m'am" narrative, but also personal interviews with...

    BU game video

Not the best game video I've ever seen, but it's the only (so far) of the BU game. Begins at 12:07 in 1Q (joined in-progess) and the frame rate isn't A+, but it's viewable. If anyone has a better one, post the link, please. TCU v. Gaylor (6 Nov 21)

    OT - Beard care products

My first beard was a few years ago but when I relocated to Colombia I looked too much like a drug lord so I went back to just a handlebar 'stache. Now I'm about 10 weeks into another beard. So far so good (even my conservative CEO boss likes it) so I want to groom it responsibly. You who have...

    Happy Birthday, Fort Worth!

On June 6, 1849, Major Ripley A. Arnold established a camp on the bank of the Trinity River and named the post Camp Worth in honor of the late General Worth. In August 1849 Arnold moved the camp to the north-facing bluff which overlooked the mouth of the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. From...
