2023 CWS in Omaha attendance guide

I went in 2015. The NCAA had a website similar to a stub hub just for the CWS. I was able to get tix for about $40 a game. The fees were silly, like $12 per game. You would walk up to the stadium and these guys would be walking around with credit card readers. Show them your credit card and they print out the ticket you ordered the night before. Never had a bad view, but never got to sit w/ TCU fans as besides the elite 500 they are scattered. Rarely even sat by the LSU or Vandy fans. About 1/3rd of the crowd seems to have no idea who is even playing, they are there to be seen.

I would go out on a non Frog day and check out the tailgating scene.

I will also recommend Blatts beer and table or whatever it was called. Was so crowded they put me at same table as a couple of Stanford guys who made the trip every year.

I ordered late so got a hotel (La Quinta maybe) was like the equivalent of White Settlement distance wise but a couple of good sports bars nearby. Was quite which was nice because I worked remotely, about 2 hours a day.

I've sat in the 300s down the first base line. Those weren't bad seats plus you can get a good breeze.

I've also had seats in the 100s between the dugout and home plate on both lines.

Never sat in the outfield because I had no desire to stand in a line for hours to get a good seat.

Below is a link for parking.
When I was there the US Olympic team swimming and diving trials were going on. But when those ended there was good parking CHI Health Center. Also there are lots near Creighton.

That first game is usually a harder ticket to get cheap because the locals often try to attend the first game of the tournament. However, since its on Friday afternoon, that is probably offset.

BTW - The local fans will be rooting for ORU this year since its been forever since they have been to Omaha.

Anyone who enjoys cigars should visit Havana Garage in the Market district. Great place to watch non-TCU games, and walking distance from the stadium. I’m fact, the entire Old Market in downtown is great, especially for wives who want to shop.

Dang, was really hoping for a Saturday first game. Sister is flying from Austin To Wyoming and we're going to the Black Hills for a few days starting Friday. It's as bad as a fall wedding on UT game day at this point.

Will anyone notice if we drive across Nebraska? I'm guessing an extra 8 hours might get noticed.

Just looked at the schedule. We're going somewhere during every possible game combination unless we make the finals.o_O

Just tell her that only the east entrance to the "park" is open?

Or that the only way to experience it is to enter the Black Hills through Sioux Falls?

Greatly appreciate the guidance here, all. The Friday start means my daughter will make the second game but not the first (she wouldn't have likely stayed for second if it were Monday). So I'll be solo for Game 1, driving in EARLY from the Twin Cities.

If anyone should unexpectedly have an extra single ticket I'd buy it, otherwise I'll check prices right before game time or try to purchase around the stadium.

See you in Omaha and Go Frogs!

I'd let one of the women drive if I thought I could watch the game on the app on Friday, but two things...
1. I'd never watch the game with either my wife or sister driving.
2. From Cody to Gillette to Devil's Tower (first real stop), I'm guessing there's almost zero cell reception.

smh

I'm flying in Sunday morning and can't check into my airbnb until 4:00. But I plan to go to the 1:00 game. Anyone know if there's a place to check my backpack near the stadium?

Also, I went to the Nebraska-Ohio State game two years ago and had Old Bay chicken wings, apparently something Lincoln was known for. Anyone know if they have them in Omaha?

Tough one. I would attempt to palm a bellhop at the Hampton or Homewood but failing that find a friendly purple tailgate and ask to store it.

Most places will hold your bags for you until you can check in. I had a similar issue in 2016. Flew into Omaha like at 8 in the morning but couldn't check in until 3 pm but the hotel had a holding spot for our bags.

Yeah, I’m staying at an Airbnb though. Not the same luxury, unfortunately. Might just try to fake it like I’m going to check in or just checked out at a hotel near the stadium.

I’ve been to Omaha twice but not for the tourney. Eat a meal at upstream or whatever it’s called. Great food and they brew their own beer.
